Getting to Skye is easier than you think. The toll-free Skye Bridge is on the main A87 trunk road that runs the length of Skye to Uig, the terminal for CalMac Ferries service to and from Tarbert, Isle of Harris and Lochmaddy, North Uist.

Many visitors often travel one way to Skye via the bridge and the other way using the ferry service from Mallaig to Armadale in the Sleat peninsula which operates year-round and is considered as one of the most scenic journeys in the UK.  The A830 trunk road runs from Fort William to Mallaig passing Glenfinnan and the acclaimed Silver Sands.

From Easter to October visitors can also use the six-car original Skye ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea, serviced by the world’s last manually operated turntable ferry, MV Glenachulish. Whichever way you choose to come it will be through stunning Highland scenery.
